The Shiawassee Family YMCA and the Shiawassee County Health Department (SCHD) are  partnering to announce a mini-grant opportunity for groups and organizations within Shiawassee  County! This grant opportunity will allow community groups and organizations to build and  enhance health education and wellness.
  

The Vaccine Outreach Inspired by Community Education (VOICE) Mini Grant can be used to support an existing or new event related to health and wellness by incorporating vaccine education and opportunities for vaccination within the community. This mini grant is intended to increase vaccine  awareness, access, and confidence about vaccines within our community, especially among  underserved populations.  


SCHD and the YMCA share similar goals including promoting wellness, building a healthy community, and providing health education. This opportunity encompasses all three to assist  groups or organizations within in the community to become health education champions. 
Champions can help support and improve the health and wellbeing of families, communities, and  workplaces.  


To be eligible to receive a VOICE Mini Grant: 


• Applicants must be one of the following: 

o legally incorporated with IRS 501©3 status or be a 

o governmental organization  

o educational organization 

o religious organization  

o an organization committed to community health 

o a community organization that is partnered with a fiduciary organization

• Organizations can be state, tribal, local, and/or community organizations. • This funding opportunity does not grant to individuals. 

• Funds cannot be used for partisan efforts. 

• Funds cannot be sub-awarded or re-granted. 


The VOICE Mini Grant application will be released on Friday, May 20, 2022, and is set to close on  Friday, June 3, 2022. Applications can be filled out online at shiawasseeymca.org or submitted to the Shiawassee Family YMCA at 515 W. Main St. Owosso, MI 48867.
